Freedom!

Finally I can rest and not worry about courseworks anymore! Just submitted my 3 courseworks today and it is a really big relief for me. I didn't chat with my mom for the entire Chinese New Year because she was afraid that she would disturb me. Sob. I want to talk to her soon.

Even though I was busy, I still managed to go to the Chinese New Year 2009 celebrations at Chinatown, Newcastle. I went with my flatmates, Daphne and Eric, and BVC friends Junnie, Jeff and Sujin. The whole Stowell Street was filled with people. There was firecrackers, lion dance and dragon dance. I only watched the lion dance performance because we arrived a little later.

Dong Dong Chiang!

Dong Dong Chiang!

I was surprised to see the lion dance troupe consisting of ang mo. Anyway, it's England and there were more locals there than Chinese. It's a very nice street celebration organised by the city council. I had lunch at Palace Garden but the service there was very poor due to the number of tables booked in.

XOXO, shu
