E&O Sarkies Buffet Dinner

Had a grand buffet dinner at Sarkies' Restaurant in Eastern & Oriental Hotel last night. It was Eddy's birthday! By the way, his birthday was on 8th August 2008, which was an auspicious day - 08/08/08.

Happy belated birthday Eddy. Oh yeah, back to the dinner. All I can say is.. the food is definitely world class. For the price, inclusive of the free flow of wine all night long, it was one of the greatest food experiences I have ever savoured and indulged.

First I headed to the salad table to get my starters. Took the greek salad immediately when I saw it because I love stuffed olives and feta cheese. There were many others like egg salad, tuna salad, even Thai prawn salad. Then I had my second plate of starters themed from the land of Japan.

This is basically seafood. The oysters and scallops were so fresh. And the sashimi as well. After having this, of course, I had to take the soup. It was carrot and orange soup which tasted just so good. Then I went for meat.

There was a variety of meats at the roast counter, including roast duck, roast beef, roast lamb, roast pork, roast chicken.. you name it. And at least 6 types of sauces to go with them. Then I went over to the oriental/local table for more dishes like seafood, potatoes, mushrooms, rice, curry, etc.

I already felt a bit full after eating all that. But I cannot pass on the lobsters. Had lobsters and went on to the dessert corner. There was a very lovely chocolate fondue fountain which I sparingly covered the marshmallows and grapes in the rich chocolate. Took some fruits and some pudding and some sweets, chocolates, etc.

After dinner, we headed over to SoHo for some drinks and dancing. Nice selection of R&B songs there. The dance floor was a bit small but not everyone dances, so we ruled the floor. :P

Besides that, here are some pics of other stuff that I ordered in the past few days.

Seafood and unagi cheese baked rice at Kim Gary Restaurant, Gurney Plaza.

Korean dish, Bibimbap at Gurney Plaza's food court. I miss this one very much that I even tried to cook it when I was in UK.

And finally, Mee Goreng!! At Subaidah, a famous mamak restaurant in Tanjung Tokong.
