Frenz 4-eva, through my life...

In response to Dominique's post on the topic: Friends..

Friends are people you interact with, acquaintances, company, but most importantly, friends are the people you turn to when you need a shoulder to lean on, a hug, a laugh, or a listening ear. In our lives, people come in and people go. There is no certainty that they can always stick with you at all times. But one thing's for sure, they leave footprints that will remain in your heart forever.

I remember when I was still in primary school, it was a private school and I mingled among the 'well-to-do kids' (in other words, wealthy). I had a best friend. We used to go around telling people, "This is my BEST friend," making a distinction between other normal friends. When we argued, we'll just declared "I don't wanna friend you anymore" and snorted our noses. How were we to know the value of friendship at that age? During Primary 6, we were all writing autograph books for each other. Saying things like "Friends Forever" and "Keep In Touch". After I left primary school, we hardly ever contacted anymore.

At secondary school, I met a new group of friends. This time, they were more diversed in background. My close friends circle consisted of around 4-5 girls whom we always hang out together. Again, I had a particularly close friend. We did homework, watched movies, went bowling, shopping, met guys, you name it.. but one thing that never failed was, we did everything together. But eventually, there were ups and downs. We ended up quarrelling and stopped talking to each other a number of times.

Things changed when I was in Form 6, because it was in a co-ed environment. I started to mix more with the opposite gender. Have fond memories of the times at Orientation camp, Leadership Training Camp, group outings, events, etc. Made many friends, some who are still keeping in touch with me till today. Lost a couple of close friends, made new close friends. I guess that's just a cycle.

On to college, my close friends are those in our Law degree course. I had 3 jimui's from the UOL intermediate class - Angel, EeLing and Malvin. After both of us transferred to the NU programme, the distance became wider. But never in thought. No matter what, Angel is still THE WOMAN. *lol*

Right now, we are all studying in Northumbria. My flatmates at Knoll Court - Angel, Snowie and Irene. We cook and eat together like a family. Thank you for washing my plates. ^^ And Daphne, though you are at QuayPoint but you can always drop by in case Keavie, Ben or Edward koko bully you. Haha. And this is to everyone right here at Newcastle. The weather gets colder as the nights get longer. Keep each other company, close and warm. Together we will endure this Autumn, Winter and Spring and become LLB(Hons) graduates before we go travel around Europe next Summer!!

My close friends back in Penang, especially (alphabetical order) Amy, Ban, CK, Danny, Joyce, TK (did I miss out anyone else?); I really, really miss the mornings that we go yumcha at Dim Sum Garden, and the nights that we go limteh at mamak and Coffee Bean. Miss hanging out at Gurney, Queensbay, Prangin. Argh.. Miss it all!

To all the friends I had in my life, I MISS YOU SO MUCH!

To friends reading this, I LOVE YOU!!!

*hugs*

XOXO, shu
